DARKROOM, the Museum of Contemporary Photography’s (MoCP) annual benefit auction, will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5:30-8:30pm at a private club in the Gold Coast. Photography enthusiasts will enjoy music, hors d’oeuvres, top-shelf elixirs, and good company while perusing auction items by celebrated contemporary artists, including exclusive photography commissions and once-in-a-lifetime photography experiences. All proceeds raised at this event will support essential MoCP exhibition and education programs in 2015. PdM will be present to showcase the magic of the evening.
This year, the MoCP is pleased to present the third annual Silver Camera Award to Barbara Crane. The Silver Camera Award honors those who have made significant contributions to the medium of photography and is presented by the MoCP at the Museum’s annual Benefit. For the past sixty years, Barbara Crane (American, b. 1928) worked as a photographer, creating highly formal, often abstracted images of people and the urban landscape.
Tickets to DARKROOM start at $150 for individuals, $300 for VIP Tickets, $500 for a portfolio of 4
individual tickets, and $1000 for a portfolio of 4 VIP tickets.
The MoCP is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. The Museum is generously supported by Columbia College Chicago, the MoCP Advisory Board, Museum Council, individuals, private and corporate foundations, and government agencies including the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
