CHICAGO -  On October 4th, Panaderia Azucar will share the grand opening of its second flagship panaderia in Albany park. Come out to the much-anticipated debut of the bakery that has already made a sensation in the Logan Square and Avondale communities, and beyond.

From 3:30pm to 6pm, attendees will be greeted by the smiling faces of Panaderia Azucar's delightful team, a multi-talented clown with years of experience at brightening children's faces, and notable business and community leaders. This is a complimentary event open to the members of the community wishing to bring their children for some delicious pan dulce - traditional Mexican sweat treats - and a cup of coffee.

In addition to the family-fun ambiance, which will take place at 3711 W. Montrose, the unveiling of a very special social-responsibility project developed by Sandy Cakes, the creative mind behind Azucar Delights Couture Confections, and spearheaded by Congressional Candidate Jorge G. Zavala, will be presented to guests.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony with special guests will officially begin the magic-making process. Additionally, tell your friends that PdM sent you and receive 20% off your cake order!

Panaderia Azucar is the brand from which from the creator of Azucar Delights, Sandy Cakes, has been able to develop delicious treats for all while doing good. Her latest project, which will be unveiled on October 4th, strives to deliver many smiles to sick children around the city in the form of costume made cakes. Chicago Leaders Gather to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with "Global Latino Fest"

Signature Event Celebrates Cultural Diversity along with Latino Contributions in Chicago and Beyond.

CHICAGO – To commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month, prominent business, civic, political and philanthropic leaders from across Chicago will come together to celebrate, “Global Latino Fest”, a signature event that highlights the diverse and memorable contributions of Latinos to American culture.

The 9th Annual “Global Latino Fest,” a marquee event to close out Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) will showcase culture, cuisine, arts and entertainment from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba and Mexico and will include a silent auction.

This year, "Global Latino Fest" will support The Resurrection Project (TRP) project's, "La Casa," an initiative that combines affordable housing with support services to help students least likely to graduate from college. "La Casa" is located in Pilsen, the heart of Chicago’s Latino Community. All proceeds from the event will launch the "La Casa Scholarship Fund," which TRP is establishing to provide deserving students in need with the opportunity to live, learn and thrive at La Casa.

Notable guests for the evening include Omar Duque, president and CEO, Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Tsi-tsi-ki Félix, Emmy award-winning TV personality, Univisión América, Sherren Leigh, president/publisher, "Today’s Chicago Woman", and Toni Preckwinkle, president, Cook County Board of Commissioner, among others.

“I am so proud to be a part of Global Latino Fest," said Preckwinkle. "This event allows us to celebrate the leaders who dedicate endless hours transforming their neighborhoods and communities.”

CHICAGO - The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is the largest Latino  business organization in the country - representing the interest of nearly 3 million Hispanic-owned businesses, which combined, generate over $450 billion in annual revenue. The USHCC serves as the platform for over 200 local Latino chambers and business associations in the United States.

Made up of three constituencies - Hispanic Business Enterprises (HBEs), local Chambers across the country and corporate partners - the USHCC's mission is to foster Hispanic economic development and to create sustainable prosperity for the benefit of American society. The USHCC actively promotes the economic growth and development of Hispanic entrepreneurs and brings value to its members by providing networking and procurement opportunities, advocacy, and professional education.
