About this event:
Soprano/songwriter Marisa Buchheit, a native of Chicago - and dear friend of PdM - who was crowned Miss Chicago 2012 last March, will perform. She will collaborate with Sharon Knickerbocker to present a program of opera arias, art songs, and Broadway favorites. She will also perform original songs with guitar from her debut album, “All Yours”.
Marisa Buchheit is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance with Academic Honors and a German minor. Sharon Knickerbocker, pianist, has both a Master of Music degree and a Professional Studies diploma in collaborative piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is currently on the piano faculty at Morton College, and works as a freelance collaborative pianist in Chicago and surrounding areas. Anastasia Chatzka is a Chicago fashion designer, known for colorful pieces. Chatzka and Buchheit have worked closely over the last year to promote a strong connection between opera and fashion in the city of Chicago, most notably in the “Fashion of the Opera” runway show in 2012 created by Buchheit.
