CHICAGO, IL - Experience Opera in a Whole New Way with Miss Heart of Illinois 2013 Marisa Buchheit and the Candid Concert Opera (CCO).
WHEN: Wednesday May 8, 6:30 PM Red Carpet Reception – 7:30 PM Performance
WHERE: Stan Mansion, 2408 N. Kedzie Blvd., Chicago, IL 60647
WHAT: A concert version of Mozart’s classic opera, “The Magic Flute”, presented at the company’s new Chicago home, Stan Mansion. The evening will be an experience for attendees, with a pre-show Red Carpet Reception and a Post-Reception with the artists.
WHY: To present some of the city’s most promising emerging vocal talent and to provide an accessible and entertaining operatic experience to Chicagoans.
WHO: CCO opera singers and orchestra, conducted by Artistic Director Codrut Birsan. In collaboration with fashion designer Anastasia Chatzka, who will be outfitting many of the female singers in the show.
Candid Concert Opera is focused on increasing the understanding, appreciation, accessibility and availability of classical opera to the community, and is therefore committed to performance environments that are intimate, up-close, and personal. Every performance includes English supertitles to ensure that audiences understand the action on stage. CCO strives to create an experience that is enjoyable for both seasoned opera-goers and the curious novice. CCO is also dedicated to cultivating the talent of rising musical artists while providing a high quality operatic experience open to every budget.
