The Chicago-based non-profit, Surge, announces Liquid Fusion, an annual gala that will raise funds for life-sustaining water projects in Haiti and India.
Join Surge and Le Prestige du Monde on September 22, 2012 for an evening of art and entertainment at Primitive Art Gallery in Chicago's West Loop. Liquid Fusion will feature signature cocktails, beer from Stone Brewing Company, whiskey tasting from the Koval Distillery, tours of the breath-taking venue and a silent auction of unique items. Entertainment by Chicago’s DJ GoodLove, and popular restaurants Karyn's on Green and D's Sweet Berries will showcase their chef’s creations.
Proceeds from Liquid Fusion will support two projects:
Water Purification Filters for Jacmel, Haiti: Surge is committed to improving the
health of people in Haiti where water-borne diseases like cholera are the leading cause of illness. Funds from Liquid Fusion will benefit Filter Pure to provide ceramic water filters to families at a medical center in the southern city of Jacmel.
An Easier Journey in Rajasthan, India: In Rajasthan women and children travel an average of 3.7 miles every day to collect water. To make it easier to access this basic necessity, Surge is working with Wello to provide the WaterWheel. This innovative design allows water to be placed inside its “wheel,” transforming 200 lbs of water to an effective weight of just 22 lbs.
Le Prestige du Monde will serve as the exclusive media for this event and is looking forward to showcasing Surge's diligence and grand efforts towards sustainability and promoting awareness of the global water scarcity situation while raising funds for those in need.
Primitive Art Gallery is located at 130 N Jefferson Ave in the West Loop of Chicago.
