No Sandbox Studios, in association with Strange Pelican Brewing, hosted their first fashion rendezvous on October 2nd, 2012. It was a night dedicated to stimulating both taste buds and visual stamina.
Chef Kevin Smith, curator and host of Culinary Couture, is working to bring Chicago diverse styles to go along with his own signature New Orleans-inspired cuisine - Creole'politan. A taste of fashion was provided by Jorge La Fuente, an up-and-coming designer with creative flair, and jewelery was provided by Sofia Ferraro designs.
The cuisine, which included grilled grit cakes with BBQ shrimp and coconut jerked chicken skewers, was made fresh by the vibrant Chef Kevin. Some of the most popular items of the night included the coconut macaroon cheesecake bars and bourbon chocolate brownies, which an attendee mentioned were "beautifully-crafted
Craft beers were provided by Chicago's very own Strange Pelican Brewing, which included the Belgian Tripple - rich satin body with notes of light sugars, cloves and some banana.
