Girls Health Ed announces upcoming event, the “Cocktails for Girls Empowerment: A #GivingTuesday Event”, to be held on December 3, 2015 at The Forge from 6:00-8:30pm.
Los Angeles, CA— Girls Health Ed announces upcoming event, the “Cocktails for Girls Empowerment: A #GivingTuesday Event”, to be held on December 3, 2015 from 6:00-8:30pm at The Forge, located at 2636 Huron Street Los Angeles, CA 90065.
The evening will include a live performance by Michele Vreeland, a local artist nominated for several awards including the LAWIM “Comet Award” (2009), the Los Angeles Music Awards “Female Artist of the Year” (2010), voted in 2009 and 2010 in the Music Connection Magazine “Hot 100 List” as Best “Unsigned Live Artist.” . There will also be a silent auction and raffle prizes, along with health, wellness and beauty vendors on site.
All funds raised from this event will go to support Girls Health Ed’s mission: to empower girls with much-needed health education and sanitary products throughout the US and Kenya.
#GivingTuesday, a global initiative to giving back. The week after Thanksgiving, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give back to organizations that need it the most.
Tickets to the event will be sold at $65.00 or $100.00 for VIP tickets, and can be purchased by visiting http://cocktailsforgirlsempowerment.eventbrite.com/. All proceeds will go to Girls Health Ed.

About Girls Health Ed:
Girls Health Ed. is a volunteer community-based effort that seeks to educate girls 8-17 about their health and wellbeing. Their program includes workshops that focus on 4 key aspects of health including nutrition & body image, fitness, personal care/hygiene and reproductive health. Their program consists of having teaching fellows from relevant fields teach seminars in metro area schools and community centers. Currently, 1,000 girls have completed their program.
