Fair trade in Chicago has never been so much fun!
Join Chicago Fair Trade at their annual benefit, Globalfest Latin America, on November 14. Come celebrate with PdM and the team as GFT share fair trade stories from their CFT businesses who work in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, El Salvador, Argentina, and México. Enjoy heavy appetizers, fair trade Moscow Mules, a signature Day of the Dead cocktail (which we are really looking forward to), wine, beer from community supported Begyle Brewing, a fabulous silent auction, and our first ever raffle. The prize is a one-of-a-kind custom stamp designed for CFT by Michael Hernandez de la Luna.
This year CFT will be highlighting their Latin American fair trade partners and presenting the seventh annual Changemaker Award to 47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar and to fashion designer/labor activist Jamie Hayes of Production Mode for their role in CFT's successful campaign to pass an anti-sweatshop ordinance in Chicago. Veteran journalist Vicente Serrano of the independent Radio Sin Censura will serve as emcee.
