Event Planning – Planification d'Événements Internship, Fall 2013
Responsibilities
Prestige du Monde (PdM) is looking for a qualified individual who is interested in all facets of event planning. This internship is designed to help qualified candidates learn about event production and management as well as give the candidate the ability to learn with hands-on experience what it’s like to work for a leading international publication . These responsibilities include research for upcoming events including venues, costs, logistics, sponsorship, etc, aid in event planning and coordination, participate in creative brainstorms, and complete some administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be professional, self-motivated, take initiative, work well with a team, and have outstanding interpersonal skills.
Basic Qualifications
All candidates must be available to work between 15-20 hours a week for a duration of 4 months. All candidates must have access to a computer/laptop - proficient at responding to inquiries in a timely manner - and public transportation/automobile. Many meetings will consist of teleconferences - limiting travel expenses for candidates - as well as attending diverse social, charity, and lifestyle events All candidates must also be proficient in Microsoft Office and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate entering into their Junior or Senior year with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher or a young professional with a passion for the industry. Previous internship experience within a related field (Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration) is ideal but not required. Must be detail-oriented, organized, time-conscious, resourceful, and have a positive attitude. Experience in a fast-paced environment preferred along with the ability to be creative, flexible and think outside the box. International travel, volunteer, or work experience along with working knowledge of a foreign language preferred. Must be able to take initiative on projects and work independently if needed.
Additional Information
This is a paid ($300-$2,500) internship opportunity contingent on project, experience, and events.
