On January 23rd, 2014, the Willis Tower's Skydeck turned into a stylish and deliciously addicting affair with Chicago's who's who of the philanthropy circuit getting together to support Chicago House and their endeavors. Absolute Wrapture 2014, a celebration of both life and progress, was a vivid combination of eclectic art, trendy attendees, and savory cocktails that were simply trop delicieux.
A wide range of artists, philanthropists, style and business insiders, and tastemakers gathered at Willis Tower to show their support for Chicago House’s 12th annual Wrapture event, sponsored by Absolut Vodka. The highly-anticipated event, which raised $25,000 to help those impacted by HIV and AIDS in Chicago, began with a premier cocktail reception high-above the city lights where attendees took in both the sights and succulent cocktails.
In addition to simply delish cocktails and a vibrant crowd, a silent auction full of beautiful pieces by 30 distinct artists took place throughout the evening. One of the featured artists, Michael Jewula, showcased his attractive piece on angels and positive energy. "I really love this piece...and love that all the money raised is being put to good use," stated Jewula. "I simply love it." The silent auction was quite successful as $6,500 of the evening's funds were raised exclusively from the arte atractif.
Guests sipped on their potent cocktails (no complaints whatsoever), enjoyed tasty hors d'oeuvres from J&L Catering, and VIP attendees received special swag bags with delights from Salon Duo, Garrett Popcorn, and Michigan Avenue Magazine. Chicago House's Mark Pino, the new Special Events Manager, was a dear throughout the entire evening and made it a priority to make the evening stylish, glamorous, and full of vibrant energy. Pino told PdM, "This is a really exciting opportunity (for me) because I can work across communities: I love the work we do."
Pino, who is originally from New Mexico, discussed the vibrant culture of giving in Chicago as one of "flair with the importance of giving."In the eve of Chicago House's 28th year as a philanthropic entity in our city, the organization continues to serve families by providing housing, employment services, medical linkages, HIV prevention services, and other supportive services to those who are disenfranchised by HIV/AIDS, poverty, homelessness, and/or gender nonconformity. All Chicago House services are provided without discrimination and are explicitly designed to guide people towards wholeness and self-sufficiency.
As the evening developed, guests were invited to see talented dancers engage with the crowd to showcase both grace and charm, providing a sneak preview of The Tease, Chicago House's next event in March. Congratulations Chicago House on a beautiful, energetic event full of delight: we look forward to the next soiree!
On November 1st, 2013, Panaderia Azucar, Tampico, Prestige du Monde (PdM), DJ CZBoogie, Kahlo Salon, and Global Fashionista Ogilvie came together for this wonderful community event supporting the arts, culture, and community-building in the Avondale community. Take a look at the magic as it developed, which included face-painting, decadent goodies, and plenty of hot house beats as guests enjoyed their complimentary Mexican sugar skulls in honor of El Dia de Los Muertos.
A special gracias to Tampico Beverage Company for sponsoring this successful event.

Champagne, gorgeous ladies adorned in Victorian wear, and plenty of savory sweet treats were only some of the decadent mentions that were a part of The Victorian Ball in the 21st Century at Parliament Chicago. The creative minds of Laura Elvis and Christy Collins of Christy Collins Design and Co. invited guests to an evening of charm, grace, and plenty of flirtation as attendees were enticed by the rhythm and beats of the divine CZ Boogie while enjoying tequila-infused delights by Sandy Cakes.
The evening began with attendees gathering in Parliament's nouveau-chic ambiance while being greeted by beautiful ladies decked in the Victorian era's promising style. Sweet delights of a varying sort made the developments throughout the evening that much more dolce.
Un affair a la Victorian could not be complete without succulent champagne for VIP insiders.
Designers, fashion-gurus, public relations insiders, politicos, and models came together to celebrate life, happiness, and plenty of bubbly.
Congressional Candidate Jorge G. Zavala and DJ CZ Boogie, wearing a beautiful Rachel Frank design, took a moment to smile for the camera.
While the beats kept everyone in full-soiree mode, the bar poured drinks for all to enjoy while guests had the opportunity to enjoy alcohol-infused cupcakes.
The magic of the evening continued to unfold as the essential concepts to the Victorian aesthetic were present: photography, fashion, joie de vivre, and voulez. Global Fashionista Ogilvie made note that the evening was "splendid, reflective of the enchanting (Victorian) era."
The Victorian Ball in the 21st Century delivered what it promised, and then exceeded expectations. Felicitations Christy Collins and Laura Elvis on a wonderful production. We look forward to next year's soiree.

The night began with gorgeous cheeky gals and pals coming together to celebrate Cheeky Jessica and her team's success in Chicago's most-happening nightlife and lifestyle niche.

Before the LOFT fashion show, dueling DJs, JESSE HOZ and DJ Megan Taylor, showcased their talent as bumpin' beats made guests feel like VIPs.

Immediately upon entering the Hello Again, Chicago hub located on Chicago Avenue, PdM's team was greeted by the smiling faces of the #HelloAgain and Lincoln Motor Company teams. The concept of Hello Again, Chicago was introduced on the East Coast before it came to Chicago early August and focused on becoming reacquainted with one's city while experiencing the joys of riding in a new 2013 Lincoln MKZ.
The experience, unlike any other, allows both connoisseurs of the Lincoln Motor Company as well as those interested in learning about Chicago through a vibrant lens the opportunity to mingle over fun, food, and vroom vroom!
The experience, which collaborated with local, nouveau chic businesses in Chicago, accepts reservations for one more week, so PdM encourages everyone to make their RSVP known and get on board. Reservations are available from:
You must be 21 years of age with a valid driver's license to participate in the driving experience from River North to the West Loop.
The 60 minute tour in an all-new 2013 Lincoln MKZ features some pretty darn cool spaces and faces, including a Hub gallery with engaging and tasty activities, Urban Wood Goods’ design shop, and an art gallery featuring local pieces and a special collection from Chicago the Beautiful’s Free Art Machine.
The joie d'etre of riding a 2013 Lincoln MKZ was quite the experience, and it honestly does drive like a dream. The scenic drive through the West Loop and the wonderful new friends we met along the way made #HelloAgain Chicago a happy-go-lucky ride full of smiles, hard-working individuals, and quality products.
PdM's team couldn't help but to feel completely at ease in a motor vehicle that will change the concept of what it means to drive a Lincoln. While we are sad to see our dear friends part to Denver, the next city on the #HelloAgain tour, we are optimistic that we will say bonjour once again to our chic and in-the-know peeps.

On July 12th, 2013, Chicago's 1st Ward First presented the "Wicker Punk Ball" at Double Door, located in the Wicker Park neighborhood. The concept, "punk rock meets local politics", took place as notable members of the hip arts and culture district trickled in to celebrate music, advocacy, and good company while raising funds for a notable cause.
Chicago's 1st Ward First Organization hosted the first annual Wicker Punk Ball, an eclectic mix of trendy and forward-moving political who's who in an ambiance of punk-rock meets nouveau-chic art. The event was a fundraiser celebrating artistic expression, sustainability, and community togetherness.
Alderman Proco Joe Moreno of the 1st Ward, who served as a key vocalist and notable figure throughout the evening, and Elise Doody-Jones, Treasurer of the 1st Ward First Organization, share a moment before the on-stage magic developed. 1st Ward First Independent Democratic Organization is a political action committee committed to supporting local candidates, bringing information to residents so they can make more informed choices and focus efforts on improving the quality of life for the residents of the 1st Ward.
Guests were excited to get first-hand viewing of diverse artwork and installations by local artists, which included Clayton Mayer, Mike Perzigian, and GL Joe. The blue gorilla installation, pictured above, was one of the most-viewed pieces throughout the evening and highly-discussed by attendees.
Members of the PdM team share a moment with Alderman Moreno before his high-energy performance. Photo booth images - and smiles - provided by Chicago's very own Photos in the Woods.
Some of the performances that took place included hits by local punk band, The Pocket Liners, Frank Lintzeris, and Totally Wrecked. Alderman Moreno appeared to have a punk-ball of a time as he let lose to some of his favorite hits.
In addition to the talented performers, a highly-anticipated raffle took place that included a diverse-array of prizes, which included a motorcycle jacket and merchandise donated by The Alley Chicago, brand new iPad, and jewelry pieces from Drapes by Ashley Scott. While the raffle was one of the highlights, a silent auction also occurred throughout the evening. Guests had the chance to actively engage with both local designers and those interested in making a bit while enjoying savory Mexican delights from Flash Taco.
Food, fun, and plenty of delight. A percentage of proceeds from the evening were allocated to help 1st Ward First better serve the community and support local candidates. 25% of proceeds benefit 826 Chicago and The Boring Store, a community organization that creates opportunities for school-age students to enjoy reading and writing. Guests appeared to enjoy the joyent mix of both youthful vibrancy and philanthropy. As Preston, a resident of the 1st Ward noted, "It really is about doing good for others while having fun."
While the designated time of the event was from 6pm-9pm, guests stuck around to enjoy the art installations, speak with their local political representatives, as well as savor another cool glass of craft beer. Way to go, team: we look forward to the next 1st Ward soiree.
