In New York, the streets will make you feel brand new, these lights may inspire you. A grand city for a spectacular event with people from all over. Day 2 of New York Fashion Week consisted of Venti Americanos, Asian chicken salads, and a few glasses of champagne.
One could already make out the trends for spring 2013. For one, there are the bra/bandeau tops paired with skirts. Peter Som’s collection, for example, was quite airy with cute pastel shades, abstracted floral prints and quirky jewel embellishments. Som makes clothes for high-so girls who are at comfy both uptown and downtown.
My favorite looks were those by Jason Wu, with long tank dresses in blush tones. There was an easiness about them without looking like beach resort wear.
How many times can you reinvent the preppy look? Not enough apparently based on the ultra cool, upbeat and youthful collection by many designers. There were a lot of the typical looks of prep parties, like crest blazers and tennis sweaters and nautical stripes and seersucker.
