Young, hip, and full of energy, Jaime represents the essence of being spontaneous. A native of San Francisco, California, Jaime told Le Prestige du Monde that his move to Chicago was quite random. "I woke up one morning and wanted to play with snow," the 22 year-old told us. "I've lived in California all of my life, so I figured Chicago would be a fun and interesting new place to explore."
Jaime, who currently resides in Hyde Park, mentioned his dreams of becoming a doctor. "My dad is a surgeon: I've always watched him do doctor things," he stated. "However, it wasn't until I was in high school that I really developed an interested in wanting to pursuit a medical degree."
A former USC student, he dropped out after 2 years to explore modeling and acting in Santa Barbara. "It wasn't for me...the acting part anyway. I see myself more of a poster-child for different things, like maybe commercials. I loved college, but I think the move to Chicago will help me see develop myself as a person a bit more."
Currently, Jaime works as the manager of a well-known fashion boutique in Lincoln Park. "While I love what I do, I can't say I agree with the sales policy our owner has," he quietly mentioned. "I mean, the designs and clothing are great, but I don't feel we are reaching the right clientele." Jaime wants to reach his the right clientele with his looks. "I think modeling is fun...I want people to see me and say, 'I want him to promote my brand.'"
Name: Jaime Antonio Lopez
Age: 22
Job: Boutique Manager
Goals: Land on the cover of every international fashion publication.
Favorite Cuisine: I'm really boring, so I eat Italian. I love spicy food, but you can never go wrong with spaghetti and meat sauce.
Favorite Cocktail: Cosmopolitan, baby.
Role Model: I admire my grandmother. She raised a family of 9 in rural Mexico and worked every day of her life to give her family the best she could. She was a strict, but very beautiful woman. I admire a person who has goals, is determined, and can still look good.
Hobbies: Wine tasting and traveling. I love Europe and Central America. The culture seem so far yet so familiar to me, and I love being able to get a good drink in new cities I visit. My girlfriend, Tonya, will occasionally travel with me - double the fun!
Why live in Chicago? Well, it's not California so I love it! I think it's a happy medium: not too liberal, not too conservative. We have a happy mix of family, friends, food, and trends in this city in addition to the architecture and vibrant energy of the people. Plus, I want to play in the snow!
